Situated on the scenic Palakkad–Pollachi railway line, this broad gauge electrified single-track railway was built during the 1890s and began operations in 1900. The journey begins with scenic visuals of the “Vandi Thavalam to Kollengode” road intersecting the Palakkad to Pollachi railway track.
Following a call from the station master, the attentive gateman activates the siren and manually closes the gates. Carefully, he inserts a special key into the mechanical locking system, securing the gates firmly.
The atmosphere fills with anticipation as villagers and travelers pause, patiently waiting.

Signals turn green, indicating the imminent arrival of the majestic Chennai Central–Palakkad Junction Express, hauled by a powerful WAP-4 electric locomotive from Erode Electric Loco Shed.

Once the train safely crosses, the diligent gateman retrieves the keys, unlocks the gates, and reopens them, allowing vehicles—mostly motorcycles—to resume their journeys freely.
