Trains vs. Planes: The Green Battle of Transportation
We discuss the environmental impact of trains versus planes, exploring their energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions. For short trips, trains are the greener option, while planes may be better for long-haul journeys. The key is to consider the distance and your carbon footprint when planning a trip.

Comparing the Powerhouses of Indian Railways: WAP-7 vs WAP-5 Locomotives
Comparing the Powerhouses of Indian Railways: WAP-7 vs WAP-5 Locomotives
In this video, we discuss the differences between the WAP-7 and WAP-5 locomotives used by Indian Railways. We explore their power, speed, and capabilities, highlighting how the WAP-7 is the more powerful ‘Hulk’ of the two, while the WAP-5 is the faster ‘cheetah’ on the tracks. We explain that the choice between the two depends on the specific needs of the job, with the WAP-7 being better for hauling heavy loads and the WAP-5 being better for high-speed travel.

Railfanning & Flyover Delay | Vivek Express, Raptisagar & a 7.5-Year Incomplete Bridge | Kerala 2025
Railfanning & Flyover Delay | Vivek Express, Raptisagar & a 7.5-Year Incomplete Bridge | Kerala 2025
(1) Akathethara Nadakkavu Flyover Delay | 7.5 Years & Still Incomplete | Who’s to Blame?
This is the Akathethara Nadakkavu Flyover in Palakkad, Kerala.
The foundation stone was laid way back in 2017… and now—seven and a half years later—this crucial project remains unfinished.
Yes, construction is technically happening…
But the pace? Painfully slow.
It feels as though time itself has come to a halt here.
❓ Who’s responsible for this delay?
Is it the Railways?
Or the State Government?
This rusty gate and the half-done flyover are reminders of a bygone era—symbols of broken promises and stalled development.
🚧 Nobody knows when it will finally be opened to the public.
But one thing is almost certain:
Just before the next state elections, it might suddenly come to life… ribbon, scissors, and photo ops ready.
Because let’s be honest—we the public rarely ask the tough questions.
And when someone does… it turns into the same old game:
👉 Railways blame the State Government.
👉 State Government blames the Railways.
🎯 Enough is enough.
If you know the real reason behind this unreasonable delay, share it in the comments.
Let’s start asking the questions that matter.
Let’s hold them accountable.
🛑 Because we deserve better.

The Vast and Storied History of the Indian Railways
The Vast and Storied History of the Indian Railways
We talk about the history and scale of the Indian Railways network, which is one of the world’s largest employers. The first passenger train in India ran in 1853, and today the network could circle the Earth 1.5 times, operating over 12,000 daily trains and carrying more passengers than Australia’s population. The video highlights the evolution of Indian Railways, from the iconic Toy Trains to the modern Vande Bharat Express.

We’re waiting for the Chennai-Palakkad Express to arrive, speeding towards Palakkad Junction, located at Olavakkode. Witness the powerful WAP-4 locomotive-22527 in full throttle as it passes, making its way to the next station. After the train passes, the gateman quickly prepares to open the gates, allowing the vehicles to continue their journey. https://bit.ly/3Y7gCto

Kollengode–Thrissur Railway | The 89 km Chord Line That Can Transform Kerala–Tamil Nadu Connectivity
Kollengode–Thrissur Railway Line: A Long-Shelved Project That Can Redefine South Indian Rail Connectivity
This video explores the decades-old dream of the Pollachi–Kollengode–Thrissur Chord Line, a proposed 89 km railway corridor that has the power to revolutionize interstate connectivity between Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Authored and advocated for over 40 years by Madan Menon Thottasseri, this project brings together culture, commerce, and connectivity in one powerful vision.
🔍 What’s in this 89 km chord line?
✅ 35 km: Existing Pollachi Jn.–Kollengode line (part of Pollachi–Palakkad section)
✅ 54 km: Proposed Kollengode–Thrissur section (finalised in latest feasibility study)
Together, this Pollachi–Thrissur Chord Line connects:
Thrissur, the cultural heart of Kerala and Pooram city
Pollachi, Tamil Nadu’s agricultural trade hub
Nenmara, the gateway to Nelliyampathy Hills
Why is this project crucial?
✅ Bypasses the congested Palakkad route
✅ Improves cargo movement between Tuticorin & Kochi ports
✅ Enables direct pilgrim trains between Palani and Guruvayur
✅ Connects to key hill stations like Nelliyampathy, Valparai & Top Slip
✅ Supports tourism around Pothundy, Peechi & Mangalam reservoirs
✅ Provides a potential ‘third line’ from Podanur to Thrissur
From local traditions like Kanyarkali and Nenmara-Vallanghy Vela, to regional economic growth, this railway line is not just a track—it’s a bridge between two states and multiple futures.
Let’s unite to support and demand this project’s implementation!
