What is the FASTag Annual Pass?
The FASTag Annual Pass is a prepaid facility that, once activated, allows private cars, jeeps, and vans to pass through designated National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) toll plazas without paying per-crossing user fees.
Validity: 1 year or 200 crossings (whichever happens first).
Effective Date: 15th August 2025.
Covers: All NH and NE fee plazas under NHAI.

How to Activate the FASTag Annual Pass – Step-by-Step
Check Eligibility – Ensure your FASTag is properly affixed to the vehicle’s windshield, linked to a valid Vehicle Registration Number (VRN), and not blacklisted.
Make Payment – Pay ₹3,000 for the base year 2025–26 via the Rajmargyatra app or NHAI website.
Verification – NHAI will verify your vehicle and FASTag details.
Activation – Upon payment confirmation, the Annual Pass is activated on your registered FASTag.
Do You Need a New FASTag for the Annual Pass?
No. If your existing FASTag meets the eligibility criteria, you can activate the Annual Pass without purchasing a new one.
Which Toll Plazas Are Covered?
The Annual Pass is valid only at:
National Highway (NH) Fee Plazas
National Expressway (NE) Fee Plazas
Note: At State Highway toll plazas or tolls managed by local bodies, your FASTag will function normally, and regular toll charges will apply.
Validity & Renewal
Validity Period: 1 year from activation or 200 crossings—whichever comes first.
After expiry, your FASTag reverts to regular mode.
To continue benefits, re-activate the Annual Pass by paying again.
Eligible Vehicle Types
The FASTag Annual Pass is available only for private, non-commercial vehicles (cars, jeeps, vans).
Not Allowed: Commercial vehicles.
Misuse Warning: Using a private Annual Pass on a commercial vehicle leads to immediate deactivation.
Non-Transferability
The Annual Pass is linked to the specific vehicle on which the FASTag is affixed.
Cannot be transferred to another vehicle.
FASTag Affixation Requirement
The FASTag must be:
Properly affixed to the windshield of the registered vehicle.
Registered with the correct VRN (not just chassis number).
Annual Pass for Vehicles with Chassis-Number-Only FASTag
Not allowed. You must update the FASTag with a valid VRN before activation.
How Are Crossings Counted?
Point-Based Toll Plazas: Each crossing counts as one; a round trip counts as two crossings.
Closed Tolling System: One pair of entry and exit counts as one crossing.
SMS Notifications
By activating the Annual Pass, you consent to receive:
SMS alerts regarding usage and crossings.
Other communications from Rajmargyatra using your registered mobile number.
Is the Annual Pass Mandatory?
No. The existing FASTag system continues for users who prefer to pay per crossing.
Payment Source
The ₹3,000 Annual Pass fee must be paid directly via the app or NHAI website.
FASTag Wallet Balance cannot be used for the pass fee.
Local Pass Holders
If you have a Local or Monthly Pass for a specific toll plaza:
You can still activate the Annual Pass.
Crossings at that plaza will not be deducted from your Annual Pass balance.
