When Rajdhani Gives Way | Vande Bharat Overtakes at Irinjalakuda | Kerala Railfanning
Rare catch from the Kerala coastal line. The Trivandrum – Delhi Rajdhani Express was held at two stations to let other trains pass.
First at Thuravoor station, it stopped to allow the Kozhikode – Trivandrum Jan Shatabdi Express to cross.
Then at Irinjalakuda station, it was held again so the Mangalore Vande Bharat Express could overtake.
Two halts, two different trains getting the path. Interesting to see how crossings and overtakes are managed on this busy single and double line stretch of Southern Railway’s Thiruvananthapuram Division.
Note: exact reason for the priority (late running, path clearing, scheduled crossing) is based on what was observed on the day. Actual control room decisions may differ.
